Committees
The Board of Directors (BOD) establishes Committees to assist in the management of the community by recommending actions or managing the details of specific community operations. Committee members are volunteers, donating their time to serve their community. If you live in Sycamore Hill and would like to volunteer for a committee please email bod@sycamorehillhoa.com for more information.
The BOD is always looking for volunteers to bring their ideas to the Association’s attention. Please attend the monthly BOD meeting to voice you ideas in person.
Architectural Review Board
The Architecture Review Board (ARB) has the responsibility to apply the architectural regulations and guidelines as set out in the Community Covenants that govern all properties in the Sycamore Hill Community. The ARB is charged with approval or disapproval of homeowners’ requests to add new structures, modify existing structures, and make any other exterior improvements. The ARB will ensure that those changes are in compliance with HOA Policy
Here is a quick list of property changes in which ARB approval is required:
-
Changing the color of anything on the exterior
-
Changing, adding, or staining a deck or fence
-
Adding a patio or shed
-
Adding or changing a storm door, front door, garage door, or windows
-
Planting a tree or tall bush
-
Adding or changing landscaping
-
Replacing a roof
These items require paperwork to be submitted to the Town of Leesburg or Loudoun County.
-
Patios
-
Decks
-
Solar panels
-
Sheds
If you or the prior owner have installed anything at the property without submitting an ARB document with required paperwork from the Town of Leesburg or Loudoun County (i.e. building permits), you will have to fill out paperwork upon the sale of your home and correct anything.
Note: This is not a complete list and policy documents should be consulted any time a homeowner makes an exterior change to the home.
